A asked:
I'm South Asian and have a "honey/tan" skin colour. But, because of acne it has left dark marks on my face and has gradually darkened my skin. I am looking for something to "lighten" my skin. Any recommendations would be great. Many Thanks

It’s difficult to advice you without seeing the extent and nature of your scars.
If the scarring is not too great then selecting a suitable colour match from the Menaji concealer range and from the Fontana Contarini foundation range would be a good option to conceal the blemishes. Apply a small amount of foundation (possibly mixed with a small amount of moisturiser if a more natural look is wanted). Apply a thin layer of foundation ensuring that it is well blended, then with a fine brush dab the concealer over the blemished areas. A light dusting of Antishine powder will help it to last all day. Practice will be required to achieve the desired result. All products are available on this site.
If the scarring is very bad I would advise you to consult a reputable plastic surgeon sourced from the BAAPS register www.baaps.org.uk who would be able to advise him on long term solutions. Alternatively, consult a Remedial Camouflage make up artist who can assist you in teaching how to camouflage the scars. The Red Cross are very helpful in this area www.redcross.org.uk
If you are still experiencing acne break outs or the occasional spot then using a skin care range designed to address this problem is essential to prevent further break outs and subsequent scarring. I would recommend Dermalogica Medibac available from my website www.angelabartlett.co.uk
I hope this helps you and please do not hesitate to contact us if you need further help or guidance.
